A Fiancé visa is a visa designed for people to live together permanently in the UK after getting married.

The partner must be British, holds ILR or EU or ECAA citizen who can have limited leave to remain in the UK. Both of them must be over 18 years old and apply for visas to settle in the UK after marriage. The previous relationships have broken down permanently and there should be evidence that you have ended all of this relationship.

The two must have adequate accommodation for the two to settle in. and sufficient funds to maintain in the UK without recourse to the public fund.

A person who applies for a fiancé visa must prove the required level of English.

What is the difference between a marriage visitor visa and a fiancé visa?

 

If you apply for a marriage visitor visa, you must intend to leave the UK after the wedding. However, when applying for a fiancé visa, you must prove that you are willing to settle in the UK with your partner.

Marrying in the UK on a marriage visitor visa does not prevent you from coming to the UK as a spouse in the future. However, if you enter the UK with a marriage visitor, you must go back to your home country and apply for entry clearance if you are eligible to apply for a spouse visa.

If you enter the UK with a fiancé visa, you can switch to a spouse visa before your visa expires after marriage.
